“PUT A SQUIRREL ON IT”

Not exactly what I was expecting to hear when I was contacted to design a logo for TreeStorative LLC. The company is based out of Chattanooga, TN, and aims to provide science based solutions for tree health and maintenance. I immediately thought about all the intriguing ways I could combine elements which allude to the scientific and natural elements, but this isn’t the main selling point.

The owner, Christopher Winters has an infectious personality. Positive, upbeat, honest, and as friendly as possible.
We both agreed that should be the focal point of this logo: friendly, approachable, and fun.

Abert’s Squirrel

This variety of squirrel is famous for the little tufts of hair found on top of its ears. Relying on this for inspiration allowed me to maintain a recognizable squirrel without utilizing a tail, which seems to be the default option for many squirrel based logos.

Employee Apparel Pieces

Embroidered Cap

Simple logo application for employee use, allowing them to be recognizable while still providing a function piece of apparel for working outdoors.

I’ve never spent much time in Tennessee, but I do know what it’s like to work in heat and humidity. It’s miserable. But, a good synthetic shirt can make it less miserable. This shirt makes a perfect employee uniform for both form and function.

…cards, that is.

…and a letterhead

While it may appear to be a mistake, the white border around the edge of the letterhead is actually very intentional. The client will mainly be using these in a digital format, but will occasionally need to print things off from his office printer. Since most small printers will print a full bleed page with an inconsistent border, the built in margins are there to maintain border consistency.
